Brief Course Description
The course will cover world geography including the teaching of topography, world climates, physical and political, features of the world. Students will understand the significance of the geopolitical, cultural, military, and economic challenges in these regions. Students will describe current political divisions and systems, key leaders, religious issues, natural features, resources and population patterns. In addition, in accordance to the reaching of each geographical region, a case study of a particular country in that region will be taught. A sample cultural survey will include a study of some of the following countries: Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mexico, Argentina, Cambodia, Morocco, and Portugal. These studies will require students to analyze instances of nation-building in the contemporary world in these countries.
